Information from Seaphus shows Henry's second wife was Elizabeth Jane Shipley but Peggy could not find any evidence of this marriage.

A note by Seaphus, "Letters from Henry to his brother Samuel in Gloucester from Point Pleasant July 1845 and Bastrop May 30, 1847.  (He mentions a new baby in 1845, Laura Lucinda and a son 6 months old 1847)."

When I was growing up my uncle Spurge lived on a farm just west of Lake Creek, OK which was a little north of Granite, OK.  Information sent to me indicates he and his wife moved to a home on 6th Street in Granite, OK later in life.  The home was across the street from where his cousin Virginia Mae (Dutch) Curtis and her husband were killed in a home fire.  I grew up in Granite and as I remember, very few homes faced 6th Street so I am not sure where they actually lived.

Information from Peggy Bass, Willie (Bill) was working on the hot water heater and there was an explosion. Dutch, as she was called, pulled him into the bedroom, overcome with smoke, she died too. I don't know when Dutch called Bill, Jr. but he called the fire department and drove to the house, only 5 blocks away, but it was too late. I have the write up from the news paper and also their obituaries. Very sad, the roof of their home burned. They lived just across the street from where my parents and Spurge & Hallie lived on 6th street (Granite, OK). They had neighbors all around watching what was happening when the fire truck came. I remember Mama talking about it.
