I received a note from Amy Garber, a 3rd great granddaughter of Mary, saying another researcher found Mary's name as Mary Jane. This is very possible since they did name a daughter Mary Jane. It is possible that, in some records, the "J" was miss read as a "T".

The tombstone of Samuel and his wife Jane.
Photograph furnished by William Keathley, a descendant of Samuel
Samuel moved to Missouri in 1817 with his brothers Benjamin and David. He and his wife lived on a farm at Cedar Creek and Highway 32 later owned by Curtis and Lena Maxwell. Samuel's son Dabney and wife later bought this farm.

20. BENJAMIN3 IMBODEN (Johannes2, Johannes Schweickert1) was born on Apr 26, 1792 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.2 He was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1850 taken in Lawrence Co, AR. He died on Feb 23, 1852 in Imboden, Lawrence Co, AR.13
Information in the Bellevue article indicates Benjamin move to Missouri about 1921 and later to the White River country in Arkansas; however, according to the 1850 census, his oldest son, John, was born in Missouri in 1818. I visited Imboden, Arkansas in 1991 and obtained two booklets from the Lawrence County Historical Society because of an article in each one on the Imboden family. One is a Lawrence County Historical Quarterly, Winter 1982, THE STORY OF IMBODEN, By Reta Covey. The other a Imboden, Arkansas Centennial Publication, EARLY HISTORY OF IMBODEN AND SOME OF ITS PEOPLE, By Mrs. J.C. Poindexter, 1944. This second article provided much information on the family of Benjamin but very few dates. According to the two articles, Benjamin moved to Caledonia, Washington County, MO. on Cedar Creek in the mid 1820's and later moved his family to the present site of the town of Imboden when this land was a mere canebrake. According to the date on his memorial tombstone in the Imboden cemetery, it was 1828.
According to both articles, the abstract to the farm that Benjamin settled shows that a Frances S. Pearce had the right to first title but in 1830, transferred that right to Mr. John Hynds (Hinds) and title was issued in his name. In 1832 Mr. Hynds sold the land, having about 320 acres, to Benjamin for $1,600. When Benjamin died intestate in 1853, Andrew Imboden was required to post a $15,000 bond. The 1850 census listed Benjamin's real estate value at $5,000. John and Benjamin, Jr. both bought in for $4,000 each and they lived there until Benjamin's death in 1859 and Johns in 1861. Johns five children and Benjamin's one were the heirs to the farm and sold it to Mr. W. C. Sloan in 1882. According to another article in this book, "Court records show that B.F.Q. Imboden deeded to the Springfield and Memphis Railroad a right-of-way 100 feet wide through the southeast 1/4, Township 15, Section 18, Range 2 West which was probably the first land sold to the railroad company. This deed was made April 8, 1882." Mr. Sloan deeded another 100 foot right-of-way to the Kansas City, Ft. Scott and Memphis railroad on May 12, 1883 which runs across this land. This property was just below the town of Imboden from the river west. The highway through the town now probably runs across the old farm also since it parallels the railroad.
In the latter 1850's a race track was built on the farm below town between the river and the railroad. Mr Will Henderson told the Mrs. Poindexter he used to listen with interest to his Uncle Will Sloan tell of the horse races. He said that people came mostly with supplies in covered wagons and stayed ten days to two weeks. Mr Sloan said it was interesting to see the line of covered wagons and camps along the river bank. Every owner was responsible for his own property and that the valuable horses were placed in near the river, which provided protection on one side and a group of men sat up at night with their rifles by their sides to be ready for horse thieves who might invade the camp. It seems there were no laws governing horse racing at that time, but the Imboden boys had a code of principles and rules of their own by which they conducted the races in a fair and orderly way. Mr Sloan said the Imboden men were of fair complexion, blue eyes, black hair, tall and straight and had a striking personality. The Imboden women possessed points of strong character, were above the average in business ability and were intelligent and attractive.
It was Mr. Sloan who laid out the town of Imboden and led the petition drive to have the town incorporated. He felt that because of the service the Imboden family had done for this community, the town should be named after them. This petition was filed April 7, 1887 and after refilling again, the town began its legal existence April 15, 1889.
Benjamin's memorial stone in the Imboden city cemetery shows he was born in 1791 where the Bellevue article and the 1850 census shows 1792. His tombstone also shows his wife's name as Polly, the year she was born and the year she died. The 1850 census shows a Mary T. Imboden, age 55, born in Virginia, living here. Mary's birth year would be about 1792 which is the same as that shown for Polly and being born in Virginia leads me to believe this is his wife's name. It also indicates that she did not die in 1848 as shown on the tombstone but sometime after the 1850 census was taken. This is a memorial tombstone only, I do not know where Benjamin is actually buried but for this day and time, probably on his farm.

Another interesting item from the Historical Quarterly by Ms. Reta Covey is included here verbatim. "Concerning the early history of Imboden, Mrs. R.S. Rainwater has a valuable collection of documents, records, notes and pictures. One such document records in beautiful manuscript and legal terms, a transaction prior to the Civil War. Following are the contents of a slave document from the estate of Benjamin Imboden, a founder of the town of Imboden."
"To all persons to whom these presents shall come, I, Andrew H. Imboden of the town of Powhatan in the County of Lawrence in the State of Arkansas, as I am administrator of the goods and estate which were of Benjamin Imboden late of Lawrence County and State of Arkansas aforesaid, deceased intestate, send greeting."
"Whereas by an order of the Probate Court of Lawrence County, Arkansas, made at the January term A.D. 1853, last past, I, the said Andrew H. Imboden was licensed and empowered to sell the following slaves of the said Benjamin Imboden hereinafter described and whereas I the said Andrew H. Imboden having given public notice of the intended sale by putting up fifteen advertisements in the most public places in Lawrence County twenty days before the day of sale, agreeably to the order and direction of said court did on the 26th day of February instant pursuant to the license and notice aforesaid, sell by public auction, the slaves of the said Benjamin Imboden hereinafter described to John Bridges of Lawrence County for the sum of two thousand four hundred and twenty-five dollars, he being the highest bidder therefor."
"Now, therefore, know that I the said Andrew H. Imboden by justice of the power and authority in me vested as aforesaid and in consideration of the aforesaid sum of two thousand four hundred and twenty-five dollars to me paid by the said John Bridges, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said John Bridges and his heirs the following slaves-for-life-to-wit: Thornton aged about 38 years, Dilsea (his, Thornton's wife), aged about 34, Rachel aged about 6, Nelson aged about 4 years and Mary aged about 2 years, the last three children of the said Delsea. To have and to hold the afore granted slaves to the said John Bridges and his heirs to his and their use and behoof forever and I the said Andrew H. Imboden for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, do hereby covenant with the said John
Bridges, his heirs and assigns, that in pursuance of the license aforesaid, I gave notice of said sale as above set forth in (blank) whereof I the said Andrew H. Imboden have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of January in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty four. Signed sealed in presence of us, (G.P. Wesen) Notary. A.H. Imboden, Sec. Administrator of the Estate of Benjamin Imboden, Dec."
Benjamin IMBODEN and Mary T. HUNTER were married on Jun 30, 1817 in Augusta Co, VA.11 Mary T. HUNTER was born about 1795 in Augusta Co, VA.14 She was listed as a household member in the census in Jun 1850 taken in Lawrence Co, AR. She died about 1850 in Imboden, Lawrence Co, AR. Poly's maiden name, Hunter, and birth year is shown on the memorial tombstone for Benjamin in the Imboden Cemetery. This memorial also shows she died in 1848 but she is shown in the 1850 census. Benjamin IMBODEN and Mary T. HUNTER had the following children:
81 i. JOHN H.4 was born May 17, 1818 and died October 1, 1861. 82 ii. ANDREW H. was born about 1820 and died March 15, 1855. 83 iii. MARGARET E. was born about 1823 and died October 1854. 84 iv. JANE T. was born April 8, 1824 and died December 1896. v. GEORGE W. was born about 1834 in Imboden, Lawrence Co, AR.13,14,27 He was listed as a household member in the census in Jun 1850 taken in Lawrence Co, AR. He died about 1856 in Imboden, Lawrence Co, AR.27
George was never married. He was accidental shot while preparing to go hunting. His gun slipped off of the porch hitting the hammer on a step causing the gun to discharge killing him instantly. George was named as an heir in his fathers estate in 1852 but is not listed in the 1860 Census. He is shown as a farmer in the 1850 census.
85 vi. CATHERINE S. was born about 1837 and died before 1870. 86 vii. BENJAMIN F. was born February 19, 1841 and died April 5, 1859.21. GEORGE (1793)3 IMBODEN (Johannes2, Johannes Schweickert1) was born on Dec 25, 1793 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.3,7 He was listed as the head in the census in 1830 taken in Augusta Co, VA. He was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1860 taken in Braxton Co, WV. He was listed as the head in the census on Sep 14, 1870 taken in Nelson Co, VA. He died on Feb 9, 1875 in Nelson Co, VA.3,7
The offspring's of George Imboden were the famous military Imbodens of the Confederate Army in Virginia. There are many books on the civil war with countless references to his sons. George lived in the house on the 300 acres he purchased from his father in- law, Daniel Wunderlick on 28 February 1827 (Deed Book 49, page 250) until 1 January 1852 when he sold it to William M. Simms. Deed Book 75, page 251, 24 August 1855 shows that George and Isabella were living in Lewis County, Virginia (now WV) when they sold 600 acres of land which they owned near Augusta Springs.

From Old Homes Of Augusta County Vol. 5 No. 1.
The 1860 and 1870 census list George as a farmer and shows his real estate value as $4,000 and personal estate value as $600.
George (1793) IMBODEN and Isabella WUNDERLICH were married on May 17, 1822 in Augusta Co, VA.3,4,7,11,14 The General Record of the Wunderlich Family shows the marrage date to be on the 16th but must be an error. Isabella WUNDERLICH (daughter of John Daniel WUNDERLICH and Susanna SAUNDERS) was born on Jun 30, 1803 in Lebanon Co, PA.3,7,14 She was listed as a household member in the census in Jun 1860 taken in Braxton Co, WV. She was listed as a household member in the census on Sep 14, 1870 taken in Nelson Co, VA. She died on Jan 10, 1887 in Saltville, Smyth Co, VA.3,7
I originally had Isabella's last name and her father's shown as Wonderlich. Because some of the source information came from the Wunderlich family records, I think the original name may have been misspelled in other records and changed it to Wunderlich. George (1793) IMBODEN and Isabella WUNDERLICH had the following children:
87 i. JOHN DANIEL4 was born February 16, 1823 ii. SUSAN was born on Sep 4, 1824 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 She died scarlet fever on Jul 20, 1832 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 iii. POLLY JANE was born on Nov 4, 1826 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 She died of scarlet fever on Jul 20, 1832 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 iv. BENJAMIN F. was born on Dec 1, 1828 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 He died Typhus fever on Sep 19, 1847 in Buena Vista, Mexico.3,7,16 He was buried on Oct 27, 1847 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7,16
He served with General Zacrey Taylor in Mexican War and died at Camp Buena Vista of typhus fever. The obituary taken from the Augusta Historical Bulletin read, "Camp Buena Vista, September 19, 1847...Corporal Benjamin F. Imboden is no more...He breathed his last today...Typhus fever...remains will be interred tomorrow with military honors (27 Oct. 1847)." None of the three sources of his death indicate where Benjamin was buried. Because of the article above and the length of time between his death and interment, it appears his body may have been shipped home to Virginia.
v. HENRY was born on Jan 7, 1831 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 He died of scarlet fever on Aug 2, 1832 in Augusta Co, VA.3,7 88 vi. ELISA CATHERINE was born May 20, 1833 vii. He was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1910 taken in Fayette Co, WV. He was listed as the head in the census in Jan 1920 taken in Ansted, Fayette Co, WV. He died on Jan 28, 1922 in Anstead, Fayette Co, WV.3,35George was promoted to a Major in 62nd Virginia Regiment of the Confederate army September 8 1862. He was to report to Colonel Imboden after his promotion who was his brother, John Daniel Imboden. He had an enviable war record and after the war, was a very successful business man including banking, lawyer, realtor and owner of a coal mine. George was a deeply religious man and greatly beloved in his chosen home of Ansted, West Virginia. He was a close friend of Stonewall Jackson both before and during the war. He left a large estate to his widow and at her death bequeathed it, divided into shares to his nephews and nieces since he had no children of his own. George is buried in West Lake Cemetery near Stonewall Jackson.
Willie E Tyree was enumerated with George in the 1900 census as a step daughter and in the 1910 and 1920 census as a niece. She is not old enough to be have been a step daughter and must be a niece.
George William IMBODEN and Mary F. TYREE were married on Dec 8, 1859 in Fayette Co, WV.3,7,14 Mary F. TYREE was born on Jun 12, 1839 in Ansted, Fayette Co, WV.7,14 She was listed as a household member in the census on Jun 26, 1860 taken in Augusta Co, VA. to me in June 2009 by Sue McCarroll.
"My mother , Elizabeth Nell Harrah, lived and took care of
Angie Mildred Dickinson Imboden Taylor and Mrs. Angie died in her
arms after reciting the poem "A Beautiful Life".Mom is now 86 years
old and can not remember the date of her death but she believes it
was 1940, but remembers a lot of other things about Mrs. Angie,
among them is this information...
George was 23 when he married Mary Tyree. They were married 30
years until her death Feb 21, 1889 .
Angie was 2 years old ,sitting on her Mothers knee, as her
family attended George and Mary's wedding. Angie's mother told her
George fell immediately in love with Angie and said on his wedding
day he would marry her when his wife died. So he did. He was 53 and
she was 32 when they married 10 months after Mary's death.
Mrs. Angie announced in church she needed someone to live with
her to help her out around the house because of her age. She took my
mother in when she was 15 and she lived with her 3 years and as she
was childless called her "her little girl".
I was cleaning out some drawers this week and found a historical document .Mrs. Angie gave her this document and Mom put it away and forgot about it. It is 147 years old."

was born on Aug 27, 1798 in Staunton, Augusta Co, VA.2 He was listed as the head in the census in 1850 taken in Carroll Co, LA.
Sometime after his marriage to
Nancy Dunklin, they moved to Carroll Co, LA. Nancy was a near relative of
Governor Dunklin of Missouri. David must have moved to Missouri some time after
1825 as the last five children are shown to have been born in Missouri in the
1850 census. The 1850 census shows David as a planter with a personal real
estate value of $6,560.
Amy Garber sent me a link to a website for East Carroll Notes of Courthouse
and Newspapers which shows, "Conveyances Book J Page 123 James Imboden, wife Nee

The 1850 census lists a widow Imboden born circa 1798 with a child William age 20 born circa 1829 living with her. I have assumed that Christian died shortly after their marriage and that Elizabeth assumed her former married name because of the children. This census shows her real estate value at $800. The 1860 census shows Elizabeth's real estate value at $1500 and personal value at $150.
The 1850 census also lists a Jerimia Imboden age 27 born circa 1823 and a brother Henry Imboden age 25 born circa 1825 living with her. The 1840 census lists two sons for Elizabeth in the right age range for these two boys. There is also a Jerry Imboden shown in the 1870 and 1880 census born circa 1823. I believe Jerimia and Jerry are the same person.

It appears that Samuel first
married Anna Kreider and that his brother Wilhelm (William) married Lydia
Kreider. Wilhelm died sometime before 1840. The 1850 census shows Samuel
married to a Lydia and information from Ms. J. Lee Kreider in 1992 shows a Lydia
Kreider married a Samuel Imboden. I believe Samuel's first wife died and that
he remarried his brother's widow.
The 1850 census shows Samuel
was a farmer with a real estate value of $8,400.
The 1870 census shows a Mary
Cledennen, age 35, and a George Clendennen, age 3, living with Samuel.
Samuel (1807) IMBODEN and Anna KREIDER were married about 1827 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.6 Anna KREIDER (daughter of Jacob KREIDER) was born about 1808 in Lebanon Co, PA.6 She died before 1850 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 Samuel (1807) IMBODEN and Anna KREIDER had the following children:

Susanna IMBODEN and Michael MOYER were married on Apr 8, 1879 in an unknown location.17 Michael MOYER was born about 1855 in an unknown location. His birth date is estimated from the birth date of his wife.

The 1840 census does not list William but does show a Lydia. It is assumed that William died prior to this census. Five other people are shown here in 1840. Three are to old to be children but one male and one female ages 0 to 4 could be or could be children of others living here. Lydia either remarried or died prior to the 1850 census as she is not listed.

Daniel is shown as a farmer in
the 1850 census with a real estate value of $7,000. It shows a wife Barbara
which indicates he may have remarried. Daniel and his first wife, Mary, were
first cousins married before laws were passed to
prohibit such marriages.
The Wonderlich Family shows a
son Daniel born 1840 but the 1850 census shows only
Henry, born 1833 and Mary, born 1840. The 1870 census does list a Daniel
Imboden born circa 1840. Also the Wonderlich Family shows Daniel and Mary
married in 1839 but if this is correct, Henry, born 1833, would have been born
out of wedlock. The 1870 census lists Daniel as a retired farmer with a
personal real estate value of $500.
Daniel IMBODEN and Mary (1817) IMBODEN were married in Dec 1833 in Lebanon Co, PA.7 Mary (1817) IMBODEN (daughter of Jacob IMBODEN and Christianna CARMANY) was born on Sep 27, 1817 in Lebanon Co, PA.7 She was christened on Nov 2, 1817 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.6 She died on Nov 27, 1840 in PA ?.7 Daniel IMBODEN and Mary (1817) IMBODEN had the following children:

was born on Mar 8, 1813 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.6,14 He was listed as the head in the census on Sep 18, 1850 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He was listed as the head in the census on Jul 30, 1870 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He died before Apr 1, 1893 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. See the text note for John.
The 1850 census shows John as a
farmer with a real estate value of $8,000. A Henry Sargen age 74 is also shown
living here in 1850 with no relationship given. I have assumed this to be his
father-in-law. The 1870 census shows a real estate value of $7,000 and a
personal value of $750. His wife's name is shown as Sallie in this census.
From property research by Dolly Martin - "John and Sarah lived on the 127
acre farm with the original log house on it. They sold that property in 1864 and
purchased an 8 acre property on the southeast corner of Louser and Mt. Pleasant
roads. This is property that I believe belonged to Philip Imboden and he built
the house on it as his retirement house. It is listed as belonging to the heirs
of Philip Imboden in the 1860 atlas. The widow Elizabeth Imboden died March
1,1862, and John and Sarah bought it in April of 1862. I don't have a picture of
the house, It was razed in 2001 when the township took the dog leg out of the
intersection.
Apparently John Imboden died prior to April 1, 1893 because that is the
date listed in Book A-3 page 755, and Book T-3 page 126 as the dispersal of his
property. Son JH Imboden and Annie, his wife, purchased a house on a lot in
Annville for $766.67. The document was signed by Sarah Imboden - widow, Aaron
Imboden and Sallie Smith wife of Thomas Smith - all heirs of John Imboden. Aaron
Imboden purchased the 8 acre tract for $1504.48. This document was signed by JH
Imboden and Annie his wife, Widow Sarah and Sallie Smith wife of Thomas Smith."
My note - Sallie could have been another name for Lucinda or Sarah or
another daughter or the wife shown in the 1870 census.
John IMBODEN and Sarah (1821) (IMBODEN) were married about 1840 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 Sarah (1821) (IMBODEN) was born in Dec 1821 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 She was listed as household member in the census on Sep 18, 1850 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. She was listed as a household member in the census on Jul 30, 1870 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. She was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1900 taken in Lebanon Co, PA. See the text note for Sarah's son, Aaron. John IMBODEN and Sarah (1821) (IMBODEN) had the following children:
i. JOHN H. (1841)4 was born in May 1841 in Lebanon Co, PA.14 He was listed as a household member in the census on Sep 18, 1850 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He was enumerated with his parents in the 1850 census. He was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1870 taken in Lebanon Co, PA. He was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1900 taken in Lebanon Co, PA.
The 1850 census shows a John age 9 (b1841) son of John (1813) and Sarah. I believe this John shown in the 1900 soundex is the same person. The 1870 census shows John as a school teacher with a real estate value of $2,000 and a personal value of $500. It is possible Roseanna and Annie are the same person and Annie was just a nick name.
John H. (1841) IMBODEN and Roseanna (IMBODEN) were married about 1869 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 Roseanna (IMBODEN) was born about 1849 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 She was listed as a wife in the census in Jun 1870 taken in Lebanon Co, PA.

iv. SARAH was born about 1855 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 She was listed as a household member in the census on Jul 30, 1870 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.
Information from Dolly Martin - "From a neighbor (Henry Berger), I found out that Aaron was never married and lived with his Mother in the house previously mentioned. He was also a school teacher and I found his name listed in the 1900 county superintendent's list as one the best teachers in the county!! I'm thinking that Widow Sarah may have died prior to 1903, because at that time Aaron sold the property to a John Kettering. Aaron boarded on the farm now owned by Henry Berger - while he doesn't remember Aaron - his older sister did. In fact she passed away within the last year and her sons contacted Henry inquiring why their mother would have chest with the name A. Imboden imprinted on the underside of the lid. According to Henry Berger, Aaron lived in one room downstairs that was furnished with a bed, table and chair, a potbelly stove and a chest. I found that fascinating!!"
46. GEORGE (1814)3 IMBODEN (John Philip2, Johannes Schweickert1) was born on Nov 8, 1814 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.6,14 He was listed as the head in the census on Sep 18, 1850 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He died on Oct 4, 1854 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.20 He was buried about Oct 7, 1854 in Evergreen Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.20
The 1850 census lists George as
a farmer with a real estate value of $8,400. It also shows his mother Elizabeth
age 75 living here along with his sister Elizabeth born 1803 and a Peggy age 33
born circa 1817. I believe this may be a younger sister.
I did not find him in the 1860 census.
The following information was sent
to me by Dolly Martin. Check the source information for George's death for more
information about her. "Deed records mention a Sarah Shaud who is the late
widow of George Imboden. I have not been able to find anything about Sarah
Shaud. There does not appear to be a wife of George Imboden buried in the
Evergreen Cemetery but Sarah's parent are buried there. The 1860 census records
indicate that the oldest three Imboden children were living in various homes.
Emma was in the home of Daniel Imboden, Philip was in the home of Abraham
Brechbill Jr. and George W. was in the home J. D. Felty."
It appears Sarah remarried
after George died.

i. George H.4 Towery was born on Feb 7, 1834 in Crittenden Co, KY.42From Kentucky: A History of the State. Perrin, Battle & Kniffin, 2nd Ed., 1885, Webster Co. "George H. was raised on his father's farm and received a good common school education. In 1856, he attended the Bethany Academy in Caldwell County and later he attended the old Cumberland College at Princeton on session, after which he returned to the farm and taught school in the fall and winter for about six years. During that time he had provided himself with law books and was engaged in the study of law. In 1865 he was elected justice of the peace and re-elected to that office which he held until 1874 when he moved to Dixon where he has since been engaged in the practice of the law. He represented Webster County in the legislature in the sessions of 1877-78. Mr. Towry is an advocate of the Greenback ticket, having become identified with that party in 1877. He was a delegate in May, 1884 to the national convention at Indianapolis. Much of his time he is devoting to delivering speeches and otherwise advancing the interest of the Greenback party. He is a member or the Masonic fraternity".

He was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 15, 1870 taken in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He died on Aug 11, 1875 in PA ?.7Henry is shown as living with his mother Christianna (Widow Imboden) in the 1850 census but his wife is not shown. I have assumed she died prior to 1850. According the General Record of The Wonderlich Family, Henry and Elizabeth had 5 children, all died in infancy; however, the 1850 census also shows a John Imboden, age 7, living here which I have assumed is a son of Henry. Henry is shown as a laborer with no real estate value. The 1870 census shows Henry as a retired farmer with a real estate value of $400 and a personal value of $500. He is enumerated with his mother.
Henrich IMBODEN and Elizabeth SHEAFER were married about 1827 in Lebanon Co, PA.7 Elizabeth SHEAFER was born about 1808 in Lebanon Co, PA.7 She died before 1850 in an unknown location.14 Elizabeth is not shown in the 1850 census with her husband. 54. CATARINA3 IMBODEN (Jacob2, Johannes Schweickert1)

The History and Genealogy of
Early Pioneer Families show Catharina's husband as Henry Brightbill where the
Wonderlich Family shows his name as Joseph. Since children name's match as does
the birth date for Joseph, I have combined both names; however, his name could
be Henry Joseph.
The 1860 census lists Catharina
as a widow indicating that Joseph had died. She was enumerated at age 60 with
George and Rebecca Moore. I believe this Rebecca is Catharine's cousin, Rebecca.

Daniel is shown as a farmer in the 1850 census with a real estate value of $7,000. It shows a wife Barbara which indicates he may have remarried. Daniel and his first wife, Mary, were first cousins married before laws were passed to prohibit such marriages.
The Wonderlich Family shows a son Daniel born 1840 but the 1850 census shows only Henry, born 1833 and Mary, born 1840. The 1870 census does list a Daniel Imboden born about 1840. Also the Wonderlich Family shows Daniel and Mary married in 1839 but if this is correct, Henry, born 1833, would have been born out of wedlock. Mary appears to be a sister of Catherine Dutweiler's husband Joseph Hostetter. The WundFam shows Mary died December 30, 1851 but the 1880 and 1900 soundex indicates she lived until after 1900. The 1900 soundex shows John's wife's name as Mary, born February 1822. If John remarried, he married a woman with the same first name and birthday. Johannes K. IMBODEN and Mary HOSTETTER had the following children:
i. WILLIAM4 was born about 1845 in S. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 He was listed as a household member in the census on Sep 12, 1850 taken in S.Annville, Lebanon Co. PA. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.
William is shown as a farmer in the 1870 census with personal real estate value of $1,400. It is assumed he died prior to 1880 as he is not shown in the 1880 census.
William IMBODEN and Kate (IMBODEN) were married about 1865 in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 Kate (IMBODEN) was born about 1845 in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.14 She was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 23, 1870 taken in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.

estate value and a personal value of $200. The 1870 census shows a real estate
value of $2,500 and a personal value of $600. Mother in law Suzanna Graybill
was enumerated with George in the 1850 census.
George is not shown with his
wife in the 1900 census. I believe he may have died by this time.
George (1827) IMBODEN and Elizabeth GRAYBILL were married on Nov 22, 1848 in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.7,14 Elizabeth GRAYBILL was born on Sep 22, 1829 in Lebanon Co, PA.7,14 She was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 7, 1850 taken in Millerest, Lebanon Co, PA. Once as head of household and also with her brother-in-law George Imboden. George (1827) IMBODEN and Elizabeth GRAYBILL had the following children:
i. EMMA L.4 was born on Feb 19, 1850 in Lebanon Co, PA.7,14 She was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 7, 1850 taken in Millerest, Lebanon Co, PA. She was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 2, 1860 taken in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. She was listed as a daughter in the census in Jun 1900 taken in Lebanon Co, PA.
The General Record of The Wonderlich Family in America shows Emma's date of birth as 19 February 1852. The 1850 census gives her age as 6 months which indicates she would have been born in 1850. The 1900 census shows her birth date as February 1855. She was still living with her mother in the 1900 census at age 45. She may never have married or her husband died.
150 ii. ANNA ELIZABETH H. was born August 24, 1854
iii. ALICE M. (1860) was born on Jun 5, 1857 in Lebanon Co, PA.7,14 She was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 2, 1860 taken in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. She was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 19, 1870 taken in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. She was listed as a daughter in the census in Jun 1900 taken in Lebanon Co, PA.
The Wonderlich family book shows Alice born June 5, 1857. The 1900 census shows she was born January 1860. She was still living with her mother in 1900 and may never have been married.
iv. HENRY D. was born on Sep 10, 1859 in Lebanon Co, PA.7,14 He was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 2, 1860 taken in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He was listed as a household member in the census on Aug 19, 1870 taken in N. Annville, Lebanon Co, PA. He was enumerated with his parents in the 1860 and 1870 census. He was listed as the head in the census in Jun 1900 taken in Lebanon Co, PA. He was listed as the head in the census in Jan 1920 taken in Annville, Lebanon Co, PA.
Information in the
Wonderlich family shows Henry's birth date as September 10, 1859.
The 1900 census shows he was born September 1863. The 1920 census
shows he was born 1865. Since he is shown in the 1860 census, he
had to be born before that. There may be a problem with this name.
Henry's wife, May,
was enumerated in the 1910 census with Simon L. Smith and the
relationship is shown a "W" which normally means wife. Henry and
his wife, Mary, are shown in the 1920 census. Henry may have been
in the service when the 1910 census was taken and Mary was living
with a relative. It is possible her maiden name was Smith. It
appears they had no children.
