Bellevue - Beautiful View (Bellvue Valley, Historical, Society 1983       This book contains an article written by Ralph Weeks Lucas and lists most of the of the Imboden families who migrated from Pennsylvania to Virginia and on to Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.  It also contains an article written by Ruth (McFarland) Bean on Samuel Imboden and varies some with the information written by Mr. Lucas.  Mr Lucas got some of his information from Arthur Imboden- son of Benjamin, Nellie Imboden Collins-daughter of Benjamin, Doshia A. Gates-granddaughter of Benjamin, and by Islo Janice Boushon Smith-granddaughter of Jimmy and Ellen Imboden.  Information used by Mrs. Bean came from members of her family.

    3. Family Bible of George Imboden, VA.  The family bible of George Imboden was in possession of Thomas G. Hobbs Jr. at the time I received this information.  A certified copy of this information is in my possession.  Information from this bible and other information from research done by Mr. Hobbs or his son has been used to complete some of this information.  It appears they may have had a professional researcher do some of the work.

Marion Stark Craig M.D., Lawrence Co, Arkansas Loose Probate Papers, was prepared by Marion Stark Craig M.D. from microfilm records.  This book lists the probate records of several of the early Imbodens in Lawrence Co, Arkansas. It lists the heirs of Benjamin Imboden and the heirs of several of his children and helps verify information obtained from the Lawrence County Historical Society in Imboden, AR. and other sources.

This information was sent to me by Dolly Martin, who along with her husband, currently own some of the property once owned by Johannes Schweickert Imboden and passed down to George Imboden.  Some of this information came from the book Pennsylvania Genealogies: Scotch-Irish and German by William Henry Engle published in 1886.  She says the birth and death dates were not in the book by Engle.  She found them on the Internet, some are cemetery records.  Some information is from courthouse records.

IMBODEN 1889-1989 ARKANSAS CENTENNIAL - Most of the articles in this publication were written by Dalton Henderson, a local historian and gives a history of Imboden, Arkansas from townhood to about 1930.  He gives the story of why the town was named after Benjamin Imboden.  The article of primary interest in this publication was written by Mrs. J. C. Poindexter in 1944 titled EARLY HISTORY OF IMBODEN AND SOME OF ITS PEOPLE.  It gives most of the names of Benjamin Imboden's descendants, some of which were nicknames, some birth dates and some dates of death.  Almost all of the names and dates have been verified by other sources.

AK.  This book lists known cemeteries in Randolph Co, and their inhabitants.  It shows the Black Cemetery located 1 mile north of  Black's Ferry Road and 1/4 mile east of Eleven Point River.  The Masonic cemetery is located in Pocahontas and bounded by Park, Broadway and Pyburn Streets.
